From Awareness to Action

Get started on intentional hiring of neurodiverse employees

You have started on the journey of intentional inclusion of neurodiversity with one or more of our Neurodiversity in the Workplace Awareness Sessions. The next phase is to engage in targeted recruitment of neurodiverse adults into thoughtfully selected positions with engaged and committed managers.

Identify Positions and Prepare the Managers and Coworkers

Many unemployed or underemployed neurodiverse job seekers do not have much work experience and are looking for their first meaningful and rewarding jobs that utilize their talents and interests. Once employed, a neurodiversity aware and supportive manager, work group and organizational culture are critical for the new employee’s adjustment and integration, so that their talents and strengths can shine.

We can help you identify and structure suitable positions to get started with. We can consult with you on best practices for neurodiversity aware hiring practices. We can also educate and prepare the work groups and managers through in-depth experiential workshops on how best to include and integrate neurodiverse colleagues.

Review, Assess, and Recruit Our Graduates

Our Career Launch Program participants learn and practice personal effectiveness skills, job search and career launch strategies, and workplace competencies – all skills essentials for securing employment and achieving career fulfillment and success.

The last two weeks of training are designed to reinforce and practice the learnings from the courses in a simulated workplace environment, while gaining experience working on real world projects sourced from our business partners. Your managers and work group members will have multiple opportunities to interact with our participants and observe firsthand their skills and strengths applicable to your positions.

We can work with hiring managers to screen and match our graduates to your jobs, facilitate any additional  assessment process steps, and provide support for successful on-boarding of candidates that are offered jobs.

Assimilate, Integrate, and Empower the New Employees

The initial weeks and months after joining a workplace is a period of intense learning and adjustment and possibly anxiety for the new recruits. The managers and the coworkers may also feel uncertain about how to respectfully and effectively support the new recruits.

We can provide the necessary support and coaching for the new recruits, the managers, and the coworkers to facilitate the new employees’ assimilation and integration.
